With the holiday season in full swing, every year at AID FOR AIDS International we like to take a moment during all of the hustle and bustle to pause and reflect on our accomplishments of the past year as well as the many challenges that lie ahead of us. This has been a year full of exciting accomplishments for our organization, and we have much to celebrate and be thankful for.
Our staff and board members have worked tirelessly over this past year to move the organization forward, and their efforts have truly shown. While we have continued to expand the reach of our services and our base of donors and supporters, we have also garnered increased attention from the international community in this year’s International AIDS Conference and through our participation at the Clinton Global Initiative. We continue to run the largest HIV Medication Recycling Program in the world, with beneficiaries now in over 40 countries worldwide. Also this year we have been the first responders for people living with HIV or AIDS in zones of conflict such as Syria and Libya.
The number of people we are able to reach with life-saving medications and services both abroad and right here in New York City continues to grow. This simply would not be possible without all of the members of the AID FOR AIDS family working together to make this possible. This of course includes our staff, board of directors, corporate partners, and funding agencies. At the same time, this work is also made possible by each individual supporter like you. I am so very proud to call each of you a part of the AID FOR AIDS family.
As we look ahead into the New Year that is approaching, we also stop to consider the great challenges the future holds for us. During these times of global economic crisis, HIV and AIDS as well as other humanitarian efforts face surmounting budget deficits and decreased aid from governments and funding agencies. This is where you step in, to continue your steadfast support and to help us keep fighting the good fight against the global HIV and AIDS epidemic.
During this holiday season, I am truly grateful for all of the support we have received, and at the same time I urge each of you to keep our mission in your hearts and minds as we continue this work in 2013. On behalf of everyone at AID FOR AIDS International, I wish you and your families happiness, peace, joy, and prosperity during these holidays. And once again, thank you for constant support!
