In spite of the pouring rain, we persevered to the finish line of this year’s AIDS Walk New York 2013! Around 50 team members came out with boots, rain jackets, and umbrellas to complete the 6-mile route around the perimeter of Central Park. Although we had hoped for more favorable weather conditions, we were absolutely thrilled to still see so many faces and receive so much support in this year’s walk!
The AID FOR AIDS team would like to especially thank our Co-Captains of the Young Generation Team, Camila and Manuela Arria-Maury! Their commitment and leadership in this year’s walk helped bring new life and energy to our team as we walked together for an AIDS-free generation.
Also, we would like to recognize the team’s top fundraiser Beatriz de la Mora, who singlehandedly raised over $3,000! Her ongoing support and longtime commitment to our cause makes her a very special member of the AID FOR AIDS family. Thank you, Beatriz!
Overall, the AID FOR AIDS team has raised nearly $12,000. We could not have done this without the support from each of you! As the AIDS Walk campaign comes to a close, we want to remind you that you only have 2 weeks left to collect any pending donations from pledges made to you. Also, we hope to see you next year for AIDS Walk 2014! (We’ll hope that it’s drier and warmer next year…) Thank you to everyone who walked, joined our team, spread the word, and sponsored us! It is all of YOU who carry the mission of this organization forward, to continue saving lives one by one.
