On March 10, 2011, a special Off-Broadway performance of “Siudy: Entre Mundos,” will be held to benefit AFAI. The “Flamenco fantasia,” which will be in New York for a two-month engagement at the New World Stage 1 theatre, explores a whole new form of storytelling, combining the raw emotion of Flamenco and urban dance, with a powerful percussive beat.
“Between Worlds” tells the tale of a future world where water is scarce and desperate tribes go to war with each other over dwindling natural resources. The production is directed by Pablo Croce and choreographed by the international dance pioneer Siudy, who also performs in the show. The cast of 22 dancer/drummers features many of the finest performers from Latin America and other parts of the world.
This special event represents a major step for AFAI, as it will be the first in an ongoing series of social and cultural presentations aimed at expanding our fundraising and public relations activities.
The March 10 benefit will feature a post-performance cocktail party, at which 200 VIP audience members can meet and greet the show’s creators and cast.  Tickets for the benefit are priced at $200 for VIPs and $100 for general admission, and can be purchased online through our website or ordered by phone by calling 212 337-8043.
We look forward to seeing you on the 10th. We anticipate a memorable evening.
