Dominican Ambasador celebrates Work of AFAI and LCOA

Ambassador Aníbal de Castro of the Dominican Republic, AID FOR AIDS International and the Latino Commission on AIDS Host a Reception to Welcome Participants of the XIX International AIDS Conference

Sunday, July 22, 2012. Ambassador of the Dominican Republic, Aníbal de Castro, AID FOR AIDS International and the Latino Commission on AIDS hosted a reception last night celebrating the opening of the XIX International AIDS Conference. In attendance were over 120 representatives from the private sector, city, state and federal government agencies, UN AIDS, the Pan American Health Organization, and local and national AIDS organizations. Also in the audience was Stefanía Fernández, Miss Universe 2009.

The event took place in the Ambassador’s residence where Laura Messina, daughter of former Ambassador of the Dominican Republic, Milton Messina, served as the Master of Ceremonies for the evening. His Excellency Aníbal de Castro was presented with a recognition from AID for AIDS International and the Latino Commission on AIDS as a symbol of gratitude for his support of the two organizations and his commitment to the fight against AIDS.
