On July 5, Salvadorian Ambassador and Representative of the Organization of American States (OAS) in Panama, Abigail Castro de Pérez, informed AID FOR AIDS International’s office in Panama that Rita Banús, Catherine Quintero y Carlos Pavel Smith were invited to attend the Regional Youth Forum that will take place in Guatemala City from July 6 to 9.
The candidates were selected by OAS, the Trust of the Americas and USAID to represent Panama at the event for their valuable work in the field and their proposal to the Pacific Challenge contest, organized as part of the Youth Project “Armando Paz” (Forging Peace). Their proposal, strives to build and promote a culture of peace for the youth in Central America using social dialogue, art and media as a platform.
Ambassador Abigail Castro emphasized that their participation in the OAS event in Panama will be important because their work in “Conjuring Equity” has ranked highly among the many projects from the countries that participate in the “Armando Paz” initiative, which includes El Salvador, Nicaragua, Guatemala and Panama.
We want to congratulate Carlos, Catherine and Rita! We are sure they will make the AID FOR AIDS family proud.
