AID FOR AIDS International has been the victim of identity theft. An unknown third party accessed our bank account information and began issuing fraudulent checks to individuals written in the name of our organization.

As soon as we discovered this scam, we immediately closed the hacked bank account and reported the theft to the NYPD. If you receive a check in the mail issued from AID FOR AIDS International that you suspect is a fraud, please help us by reporting this immediately to NYPD Fraud Department by calling (212) 337-0635, or to the local police department in your own jurisdiction.

We are working closely with an investigator in the NYPD Fraud Department to ensure the continued security of our accounts and prevent any future identity theft. If you have any questions about this fraud alert or any information that you think may be useful in this ongoing investigation, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We thank you for your cooperation.
