The Chronic Disease Response Program responds to shortages of medication that affect millions of people in Latin America and the Caribbean on an annual basis. This includes people with HIV and other chronic diseases.

Headquartered in New York City, with a United Nations Humanitarian Response Depot (UNHRD) storage warehouse in Panama, this program works with international partners, pharmaceutical companies, and organized civil society to reduce the impact of medication shortages and save lives.

In 2018, AFA distributed 60 tonnes of medication to 35,000 people in Latin America.
