It’s a pleasure for me to introduce you to AFA’s third newsletter of the year. In this issue, you will be able to learn more about our current programs and their impact in the communities we have been working in. We remain committed to creating innovative models to bring aid into developing countries and currently focus our efforts in assisting the complex humanitarian emergency in Venezuela. I invite you to continue reading and find out how to get involved with the organization.

I am proud to officially announce that this year we raised $1.3 Million through our My Hero Gala 2019.  This year’s My Hero Gala was a memorable one: not only for the funds we raised but because it was the first one entirely focused on a country, by celebrating the heroes who have made extraordinary contributions to alleviate the complex humanitarian emergency in Venezuela. We could not be any prouder to have worked with such amazing companies and individuals. You can learn more about the Gala in the article included in this newsletter.

This November we also hosted the first ever My Hero Bash! With Alimenta Venezuela, a party for millennials to dance the night away while saving lives. Thought as a way to get the younger generations involved, the My Hero Bash was a great initiative to create awareness about the current crisis in Venezuela while dancing to the beats of DJ Mr. Gómez, DJ Alex Watanabe and DJ Losh. Follow us on Instagram @Myherobash_nyc and join our Facebook page My Hero Bash to stay up to date about the next edition of this exclusive party.

In this issue you can also read about AID FOR LIFE’s first pilot project, launched during the summer and aimed at expanding the reach of AFA’s Healing Venezuela program by distributing nutritional supplements to children between 3 and 6 years old with malnutrition.

Finally, I invite you to read more about the opening of our first medical center in the Dominican Republic: Tu Salud, which offers medical assistance to the most vulnerable population in Santo Domingo. If you are in NYC, we would be thrilled to have you join us for our first Medicine Recycling Drive with Council Speaker Corey Johnson, this upcoming Saturday, December 7th. You can learn more about this medicine drive and the medical center in the Dominican Republic in the articles included in this edition of our Newsletter.
