It is almost gay pride in NYC and AID FOR AIDS International (AFAI) is ready to join the 2011 Gay Pride Parade on June 26th!! This event is a great opportunity to bring our message about HIV prevention, access to treatment and political action to one of the communities most affected by the HIV epidemic. It also represents a great opportunity for AFAI to promote its Recycling Program, which continues helping people living with HIV or AIDS without access to life-saving treatment around the world.
This year, AFAI is pleased to welcome our long-time partner Bioscrip as the sponsor of our participation. With their support, our float is ready to stroll down the streets of New York accompanied by members of the AFAI family. We have also prepared a special t-shirt and special items for those walking with us.
We invite all our friends and supporters to celebrate our return by walking with the AFAI team, as the parade winds its way down 5th Ave., from midtown to Greenwich Village. Remember to let us know early that you are coming so you can get your t-shirt!!
Queue: This year’s theme is “I Deliver Life, I Deliver Future.” Want to know more? Contact Jonathan Capote at

Bioscrip, as part of its ongoing effort in support of AFAI’s medication recycling program, has underwritten the cost of eight medicine drop-off boxes, which have enabled AFAI to expand the scope of the recycling program throughout the East Coast and part of the Midwest.
The company, based in Elmsford, N.Y., is a provider of pharmaceutical and home care solutions. The company was created out of the 2005 merger of Chronimed Inc. and MIM Corp. It expanded its offerings in home healthcare through last year’s acquisition of Critical Homecare Solutions.
