AID FOR AIDS Peru celebrated its 15th anniversary with a Gala Dinner held at the United Nations building in Lima, on Friday, July 11th. This event was attended by entrepreneurs, artists, NGO partners, cooperating agencies and friends who, in one way or another, have supported us for years, making it possible for us to fulfill our mission to SAVE LIVES ONE BY ONE.

Ernesto Pimentel, whom we thank for his unrivaled support and cooperation in helping us develop our HIV Access Treatment Program, sponsored this Gala in gratitude for the award given to him by AFA New York last November in New York City.

AID FOR AIDS’ Founder and Executive Director, Jesús Aguais, and Angélica Fuentes, Founder of The Angélica Fuentes Foundation and member of the Board of Directors of AID FOR AIDS, were present at the event to recognize Ms. Cecilia Tait, Congresswonan of Peru, with the My Hero Award, for her hard work advocating and providing oversight from congress to benefit the HIV community in Peru, with emphasis on universal access to uninterrupted treatment.

We also want to thank Dr. Regina Castillo, UNAIDS Coordinator for Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador, since it is due to her support that we were able to carry out our Gala Dinner in the United Nations. Also Ms. Magaly Robalino, UNESCO Representative, who was also with us during the night.

In addition, we want to thank everyone who joined us in this first Gala Dinner and all those who worked so hard to make it happen. Without your support it would not have been possible to have gotten to where we have arrived. There’s still much work to be done; we will continue to empower more people, so that together we can reach an AIDS free generation.
See you next year!
