From 2008 to 2013 the Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF) provided financial support for the AID FOR AIDS program ¿Cuánto Sabes de VIH y Sida? (How Much Do You Know About HIV and AIDS?) This is an innovative program combining HIV and AIDS education with life skills as defined by the World Health Organization (WHO). The program is transmitted through peer-to-peer education techniques and aims to prevent the spread of HIV by developing a culture of responsible and healthy sexuality. The program reaches over 100,000 youth per year and has been implemented in 8 different countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. Thanks to the early and strong backing of the EJAF, the program was able to grow and reach hundreds of thousands of people. Images from the program, as well as AFA’s logo are featured in these videos shared by the Elton John Foundation. We are proud that our programs have been amongst the wonderful efforts of this wonderful foundation as it strives with us towards an AIDS free generation.
