We are happy to announce that starting this Friday February 17th, AID FOR AIDS International (AFAI) will be providing Free HIV Testing at a Bioscrip’s location in the heart of Chelsea. AFAI and Bioscrip, long-time partners in the fight against the HIV epidemic, have agreed to work together in expanding HIV testing to the New York Community. As part of this effort, AID FOR AIDS’s New York office will be offering Free HIV testing from 3:00-6:00 PM every Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday at the Bioscrip’s pharmacy located at 197 Eight Avenue in New York City. This new initiative seeks to provide an easily accessible avenue for people to get a fast and confidential HIV test and get more information about methods of prevention. AID FOR AIDS International is officially announcing the launch of its AIDS WALK campaign for 2012. After such a successful walk in 2011, our team is joining again the AIDS WALK New York with the announcement of its theme for 2012: “We Walk For A World Without A Trace of HIV.” This year’s theme not only reflects our hopes and dreams for a better tomorrow, but also our sustaining belief in the power of committed individuals to change their world. This year’s walk, our first major fundraising event of the year, will take place on Sunday, May 20 but registration with our team starts today by signing up here. Last year, AID FOR AIDS joined the walk under the banner of “iWalk, iDeliverLife” with more than 100 friends and supporters who walked the 6.2 miles with us, and far surpassing our fundraising goal. Afai And Trinity Global Deliver Arv Treatment In Dominican Republic

NEW YORK – AID FOR AIDS International (AFAI) and the London, Ontario-based Trinity Global Support Foundation have partnered to provide a large bulk shipment of life-saving antiretroviral (ARV) medication to the Dominican Republic’s Presidential Council on AIDS (COPRESIDA). The shipment, which comprises 829,258 doses of ARV medicine, is sufficient to cover the needs of nearly 1,200 individual recipients in the Dominican Republic for one year. Over its 15-year history, AFAI’s Access To Treatment (ATAP) program has shipped more than $80 million worth of recycled ARV medication to thousands of needy recipients in more than 40 developing countries. The AID FOR AIDS International’s family would like to take a minute from its daily activities to extend our deepest condolences to our good friend and colleague Rita Banus on the loss of her father this past week. Ms. Banus is a psychologist for AID FOR AIDS’ Children and Teens Center in Panama. She has been instrumental in the development of the Panama Children’s Program, which assists 300 youngsters who are living with HIV. Rita has helped people through some of the most trying times of their lives, and today we extend our love and support to her and her family during this difficult time.
